JOB SUMMARY 

Dash Motion Designers are multidisciplinary creatives that specialize in motion graphics, animation, and editing. They are problem solvers who are experts in ideation and conceptualization. All dash Motion Designers bring a special skill set to the table but are generalists in nature with a passion for exploration and tinkering. Successful motion designers are organized collaborators, understand the entire animation process, and are comfortable working in different styles and different genres throughout pre-production and production.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Education & Experience: A portfolio highlighting versatility in animation built on a foundation of design principles.

    Animation & Design Fundamentals: Motion designers should know the design basics (line, form, shape, value, texture, and color) as well as the twelve principles of animation.

  • Adobe Programs: It’s a necessity for dash Motion Designers to have a strong understanding of Adobe After Effects and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere.

  • Conceptualization: From highly technical subjects to abstract ideas, Motion Designers should feel comfortable brainstorming multiple approaches to animating various frames.

  • Organization: To successfully hop between projects, Motion Designers will be required to follow and maintain organized project files based on dash naming conventions and structural requirements. 

  • Communication & Time Management: Strong communication skills to communicate with producers, directors, and team members throughout projects with willingness to mentor other creatives.

  • Location: Preference given to those that can work in our North Carolina office or virtually in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts.


esSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Consistently pushes new ideas and visuals that both meet creative brief expectations while also pushing new creative.

  • Over communicates on the status of projects, where they are in the process, and whether they feel good or need help with assignments.

  • Knowledgeable on the variety of questions to ask for each type of project.

  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills, both written and verbal to efficiently respond to feedback from directors and producers.

  • Provides proficient time estimation and management

  • Produce amazing animated content by brainstorming, conceptualizing, and bringing designs to life through a variety of motion techniques.

  • Develops and executes on style frames and other pre-production elements.

  • Feels comfortable working in a variety of styles with the ability to jump between projects quickly and efficiently.

  • Works with a collaborative mindset to help colleagues and teammates on every project

  • Reviews work regularly to catch and find objective errors.
